It has been a non-stop period of organising and delivering events around the world. Our office team has been on fire winning incoming business and then putting it all into logistical sense for all our facilitators out ‘in the field’. Chris and his team have been out winning hearts and minds in Lisbon, delivering Junk Funk (our junkyard percussion team activity), while I have been to Rome with bags of boomwhackers for a conference finale.
Owen, Pete and I took our surprise Crashing Waiters show back to Rome with just enough time for a team Pizza opposite the Colosseum (shown in the photo).
Last week was all about variety of scale. First was a huge 850-person boomwhacker event and then a career first for me…our smallest ever event, which proved that no team is too small for Creative Team Events! Four participants arrived for a two-hour drumming experience and had a ball. My four delightful ladies got an in-depth journey including:
- the roots of drumming, using basic frame drums
- the development of hand drumming from Africa and South America
- playing our stunning drum kit to understand the coordination that goes on behind every hit song or theme tune they knew.
Next week is going to be exciting for sure. I’m flying in and out of Portugal on the same day and we have two very large drumming events in England. Our beat boxing champion Patrick is flying to sunny California to transform another large group too.
In the middle of this we have boomwhackers in Scotland, with just enough time to collect a mountain of beautifully-prepared instrument bags to take to Qatar for a 800-person conference! I’ll keep what we are going to do over there a secret until I come back. It’s typically fresh, unique and invented by the wonderfully creative minds back at our HQ.
