So far this year, there has been an incredible demand for our boomwhacker sessions. We have had to significantly increase our stock of these amazing musical tubes. We often have more than one event on the same day and, typically, the sizes of the audiences are such that we have needed to expand.
With my portable boomwhacker bags slung over my shoulder, I have not long returned from a sizzling hot Arizona. Chris, Owen and Pete have also been all over the UK and across Europe delivering boomwhacker events. In this blog, I wanted to go into more detail about a very recent trip to Bulgaria. With boomwhackers, it is just so easy and efficient to inspire and entertain conferences and meetings of any size, anywhere in the world.
Wes Linden, the best selling author and network managing professional, very kindly brought Creative Team Events in to work with one of his many global companies he consults with. We were asked to provide a conference energiser with 600 boomwhackers.
With very careful packing, we had all 600 instruments in three large bags to go into the aircraft hold, just like regular luggage.
Requiring only one facilitator to lead this event means that providing an amazing conference experience for up to an hour, with everyone playing together, becomes no fuss to organise and incredibly affordable.
On arrival in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, it was a swift taxi ride to the hotel, where my bags of undercover, secret musical tubes were sent on to the conference venue. These bags are discreet and black in colour so the audience never notices them in the corners of the room, right by the stage or even sitting behind a PA speaker. If only they knew that these innocent-looking bags contain all the tools needed to instantly transform an entire room into a rainbow of colours and harmony. And all this is achieved in the first 30 seconds of the event!
Wes did a fantastic presentation before bringing me on-stage as the surprise facilitator. Sixty seconds later, in a speedy, mass pass-out, the whole audience had an instrument in their hands.
As ever, this interactive musical activity had all the delegates playing one of five separate parts, which, when layered together, created a one-team orchestra.
Along the way, we had all the usual fun, surprises and lots of laughs. Most importantly, we demonstrated the power of successfully creating something together.
The way we lead these sessions means we can encompass and demonstrate so many business analogies, including leadership, communication, change and the power of teamwork.
While I was there, I found out about a traditional Bulgarian dance called the Hora. So, we added it into the mix! Over the wonderful music being played, I casually mentioned it and the stage was immediately flooded with willing Hora dancers straight out of the audience.
After our performance finale, it took roughly a minute to have all the handheld instruments passed into waiting bags and out of the room.
All our delegates were now wide awake and totally engaged – ready to continue with the conference and fantastic guest speaker, Stefan Thomas.
I caught up with Wes Linden and Stefan Thomas, and here is what they said:
I hope this shows that, with our boomwhacker event, you can have maximum impact and entertainment for your meetings or conferences of any size, anywhere in the world.
Please contact us to be amazed just how easy it could be for you to have all this excitement as part of your next event.
