Every enquiry we receive, especially by phone, is exciting. Explaining all the available options that best suits the brief and then detailing how they actually work inevitably leads to involuntary hand gesticulations and bursts of pent-up enthusiasm to describe the imaginary scene to the listener. We’re quite a passionate lot!
There is one type of enquiry, however, that gets us even more excited. That’s when we hear that the company in question has never attempted any teambuilding whatsoever before. When this would be their first foray into the bewildering forest of corporate activities, we can hardly contain ourselves.
The reason is very simple; we have such confidence in what we deliver and know that people taking part will have a fantastic time. We also love to completely meet the hopes and aspirations of the organiser who has stuck his or her neck out and made the final decision of what to try.
Some companies run activities every month, always expect celebrities to speak at their conferences and have unlimited budgets for Champagne, new iPads and exotic venues. Yet, there are many more organisations, perhaps with smaller budgets, that have never held teambuilding or corporate entertainment events before. Indeed, many are unsure as to how employees would react when put into those situations.
We immediately try to put completely new potential clients at ease, by comprehensively describing what will happen in our interactive group activities, as well as providing reassurance based upon delivering thousands of events across the UK and worldwide.
With new clients, we always arrive at a venue early, set up quickly in complete secrecy and reassure the quivering client that all will be well. What we know (and they don’t yet know) is that, in just over an hour or so, they will be considered a hero and forward-thinking company guru for organising such a successful first event!
A perfect example of this from last week was when a new client decided that she wanted our Clap Happy as a conference energiser to add colour and energy to the conference. Two departments were merging together and, to celebrate, they were having their first teambuilding activity ever, with us.
Our approach to events is quite simple. They start with an initial surprise, continue with a whirlwind of energy and are always hilarious fun. Within just seconds, the whole room was in an uproar and getting totally into the spirit of becoming a rubber-glove wearing clapping orchestra!
This week, we received a glowing recommendation from the company. The added ‘cherry on the top of the cake’ was hearing that the Managing Director had never laughed so much in his life and still has his pink rubber gloves hanging in his office!
So, if you have never attempted a group event before, please get in touch, as we are sure that you’ll be delighted by what can be achieved. We are looking forward to hearing from any of you ‘first timers’ soon!
