So we’re back alive and kicking into 2018. We hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year.
To be fair, we didn’t really stop. We had a very glamorous Strictly Come Dancing event with personalities from the actual TV show as judges. Stunning dancers and amazing dresses had everyone transfixed. Then, just before New Year, we had a huge Big Picture evening event. 35 single canvases painted by 35 teams eventually created one incredible combined piece of art. We had all the individual pieces constructed together and displayed the following morning to the entire conference.
Following a few days of rest over Christmas, it was straight back into a world of busy events for us with a January filled with Haka. We have had our authentic Haka teams all over the country startling conference audiences and giving them a session they won’t forget! We even have a team getting ready for one such event in Texas this week.
My year started with a Monday morning boomwhacker wake-up session for 300 delegates. Then I gave participants an overview to a very interesting subject – Power Poses. I discussed the importance of body language and its impact on physiology, as well as the science behind appearing confident. Amy Cuddy’s now-famous Teds Talk on this subject gives us all food for thought, and I hope you enjoy the video:
We also had the first drumming event of the year, which was really exciting. A cross-cultural group, where members never see each other, spent 90 minutes creating an amazing improvised drum performance. As ever, after learning the basics of playing, we had participants focusing on listening and supporting each other. I’m always amazed at the level of complexity achieved by our drumming participants. Mind you, so are they.
So what is the plan for the year ahead? To maintain the highest standard in delivering events to you, our clients. We also aim to develop our website further to better explain the events we provide by:
- adding more video content
- providing more images from events
- showing more feedback from participants.
For event organisers or internal team coordinators, these will better help you understand what you will get from our events and help you communicate your event ideas and proposals to other people. We’ll also be adding new event activities along the way!
On behalf of myself and all the Creative team, we wish you a successful 2018 and we look forward to hearing from you and combining your ideas with ours to make some special moments.
Just like Amy Cuddy advises, be big, be bold and walk confidently into this new year. Good luck everyone!
